a puppy and his new chewtoy.

My number one dream was crossed off my list.

Let me clarify by saying that it wasn’t the biggest dream that I’ve ever had. But it was literally the first dream that I had on my long list of dreams (I’m up to 202 now).

  1. New pair of camouflage TOMS

These shoes aren’t new nor are they TOMS. But these shoes are special. They were given to me from my west coast roommate Kevin. And he bought them 5 years earlier. What he was doing was getting rid of things that he didn’t want or need anymore (check out his journey HERE).

Whenever I saw these shoes throughout the term I just wanted to get a super cool pair that are kind of like them. We would be like the cool matching camo dhudes. Camouflage should really be something that I should wear everyday anyways. Because of my name (Hunter).

But seriously, haven’t you ever seen something you really would like but just couldn’t have? The reason I couldn’t have the shoes were for two reasons:

  1. They were Kevin’s shoes
  2. I couldn’t afford to buy any new things

Which brings me to another reason why these shoes mean so much to me! I like clothes and all of the pretty things. The things that I love to spend money on most are food and clothes. It’s incredibly difficult to buy things here in Georgia when you don’t have an income. So I have had to realize and come to an understanding with God that I can’t buy a lot of pretty things in Georgia. It’s been hard but I understand that clothes are not a necessity for me right now.

But when free shoes comes into your sights at the very very end of a term in CGA (literally 10 hours before my flight to Nevada), it becomes special. They’re 5 years old and yet they’re the prettiest things I’ve ever seen. To me, it was God giving me a gift.

This blog might have seemed like very ridiculous and/or a waste of time to read. But this blog represents growth, promises, and dreams coming true.

Even the smallest dream coming true should be met with the exuberance of a puppy, the glee of a child, and the truth sinking in that someone loves you.
